ਆਸਾ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥ Asa Mehala 5 ॥ आसा महला ५ ॥

ਜਿਸੁ ਨੀਚ ਕਉ ਕੋਈ ਨ ਜਾਨੈ ॥
Jis Neech Ko Koee N Janai ||
जिसु नीच कउ कोई न जानै ॥
That wretched being, whom no one knows
ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਤ ਉਹੁ ਚਹੁ ਕੁੰਟ ਮਾਨੈ ॥੧॥
Nam Japath Ouhu Chahu Kuntt Manai ||1||
नामु जपत उहु चहु कुंट मानै ॥१॥
- chanting the Naam, the Name of the Lord, he is honored in the four directions. ||1||
ਦਰਸਨੁ ਮਾਗਉ ਦੇਹਿ ਪਿਆਰੇ ॥
Dharasan Mago Dhaehi Piarae ||
दरसनु मागउ देहि पिआरे ॥
I beg for the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan; please, give it to me, O Beloved!
ਤੁਮਰੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਉਨ ਕਉਨ ਨ ਤਾਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Thumaree Saeva Koun Koun N Tharae ||1|| Rehao ||
तुमरी सेवा कउन कउन न तारे ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Serving You, who, who has not been saved? ||1||Pause||
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਨਿਕਟਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਕੋਈ ॥
Ja Kai Nikatt N Avai Koee ||
जा कै निकटि न आवै कोई ॥
That person, whom no one wants to be near
ਸਗਲ ਸ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਉਆ ਕੇ ਚਰਨ ਮਲਿ ਧੋਈ ॥੨॥
Sagal Srisatt Oua Kae Charan Mal Dhhoee ||2||
सगल स्रिसटि उआ के चरन मलि धोई ॥२॥
- the whole world comes to wash the dirt of his feet. ||2||
ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਾਨੀ ਕਾਹੂ ਨ ਆਵਤ ਕਾਮ ॥
Jo Pranee Kahoo N Avath Kam ||
जो प्रानी काहू न आवत काम ॥
That mortal, who is of no use to anyone at all
ਸੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਤਾ ਕੋ ਜਪੀਐ ਨਾਮ ॥੩॥
Santh Prasadh Tha Ko Japeeai Nam ||3||
संत प्रसादि ता को जपीऐ नाम ॥३॥
- by the Grace of the Saints, he meditates on the Naam. ||3||
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਮਨ ਸੋਵਤ ਜਾਗੇ ॥
Sadhhasang Man Sovath Jagae ||
साधसंगि मन सोवत जागे ॥
In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, the sleeping mind awakens.
ਤਬ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਨਾਨਕ ਮੀਠੇ ਲਾਗੇ ॥੪॥੧੨॥੬੩॥
Thab Prabh Naanak Meethae Lagae ||4||12||63||
तब प्रभ नानक मीठे लागे ॥४॥१२॥६३॥
Then, O Nanak, God seems sweet. ||4||12||63||
