Chaadhanaa Chaadhan Aaangan Prabh Jeeo Anthar Chaadhanaa ॥1॥
चादना चादनु आंगनि प्रभ जीउ अंतरि चादना ॥१॥
Moonlight, moonlight - in the courtyard of the mind, let the moonlight of God shine down. ॥1॥
ਆਰਾਧਨਾ ਅਰਾਧਨੁ ਨੀਕਾ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਰਾਧਨਾ ॥੨॥
Aaraadhhanaa Araadhhan Neekaa Har Har Naam Araadhhanaa ॥2॥
आराधना अराधनु नीका हरि हरि नामु अराधना ॥२॥
Meditation, meditation - sublime is meditation on the Name of the Lord, Har, Har. ॥2॥
ਤਿਆਗਨਾ ਤਿਆਗਨੁ ਨੀਕਾ ਕਾਮੁ ਕ੍ਰੋਧੁ ਲੋਭੁ ਤਿਆਗਨਾ ॥੩॥
Thiaaganaa Thiaagan Neekaa Kaam Krodhh Lobh Thiaaganaa ॥3॥
तिआगना तिआगनु नीका कामु क्रोधु लोभु तिआगना ॥३॥
Renunciation, renunciation - noble is the renunciation of sexual desire, anger and greed. ॥
ਮਾਗਨਾ ਮਾਗਨੁ ਨੀਕਾ ਹਰਿ ਜਸੁ ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਮਾਗਨਾ ॥੪॥
Maaganaa Maagan Neekaa Har Jas Gur Thae Maaganaa ॥4॥
मागना मागनु नीका हरि जसु गुर ते मागना ॥४॥
Begging, begging - it is noble to beg for the Lord's Praise from the Guru. ॥4॥
ਜਾਗਨਾ ਜਾਗਨੁ ਨੀਕਾ ਹਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਨ ਮਹਿ ਜਾਗਨਾ ॥੫॥
Jaaganaa Jaagan Neekaa Har Keerathan Mehi Jaaganaa ॥5॥
जागना जागनु नीका हरि कीरतन महि जागना ॥५॥
Vigils, vigils - sublime is the vigil spent singing the Kirtan of the Lord's Praises. ॥5॥
ਲਾਗਨਾ ਲਾਗਨੁ ਨੀਕਾ ਗੁਰ ਚਰਣੀ ਮਨੁ ਲਾਗਨਾ ॥੬॥
Laaganaa Laagan Neekaa Gur Charanee Man Laaganaa ॥6॥
लागना लागनु नीका गुर चरणी मनु लागना ॥६॥
Attachment, attachment - sublime is the attachment of the mind to the Guru's Feet. ॥6॥
ਇਹ ਬਿਧਿ ਤਿਸਹਿ ਪਰਾਪਤੇ ਜਾ ਕੈ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਭਾਗਨਾ ॥੭॥
Eih Bidhh Thisehi Paraapathae Jaa Kai Masathak Bhaaganaa ॥7॥
इह बिधि तिसहि परापते जा कै मसतकि भागना ॥७॥
He alone is blessed with this way of life, upon whose forehead such destiny is recorded. ॥
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਸੁ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਨੀਕਾ ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਸਰਨਾਗਨਾ ॥੮॥੧॥੪॥
Kahu Naanak This Sabh Kishh Neekaa Jo Prabh Kee Saranaaganaa ॥8॥1॥4॥
कहु नानक तिसु सभु किछु नीका जो प्रभ की सरनागना ॥८॥१॥४॥
Says Nanak, everything is sublime and noble, for one who enters the Sanctuary of God. |
